WWF THUNDER

April 30th

Norfolk, Virginia

Jim Ross is your announcer.

Ross - Hello everybody, and welcome to WWF Thunder! Earlier tonight, due to a freak knee injury suffered on Tuesday night, Rey Mysterio Jr forfeited the WWF Cruiserweight title. Right here on Thunder, we'll have a one night tournament to crown a new champion! It's gonna be quite a show folks, and let's get straight to first round action.

Before the opening ring introductions can be made, Devon Storm makes his way to ringside and takes a seat at the announcing table.

Storm - What the hell is this? How come Devon Storm wasn't invited to be a part of this tournament? I'm a former champion, and I deserve a shot more than anyone else on this planet. These seven guys they got coming out here, they ain't fit to kiss my feet, let alone lace my boots.

Ross - Well, based on your record, you haven't won a match here in the WWF since January, former champion or not.

Storm - You think I give a crap about that? This opening contest, they got Jim Powers coming out here for fuck's sake! When was the last time *he* won a match, has he *ever* won a match? He has no right being in there, when a former champion like me has to sit on the fucking sidelines.

Ross - Well, what the hell was that stunt you pulled last weekend?

Storm - What stunt? Let's go to ringside.

(First Round)

Chris Chetti vs Jim Powers

Powers has the early advantage, but Chetti gets the first real close two count as he hits a double springboard moonsault. Powers gets a two and three quarter count after reversing a backslide, and the match is solidly back and forth for it's duration. Chetti's superiority soon becomes clear though as the match goes on and he gets several close two counts. Chetti is denied a clean win though, as Devon Storm gets up from his announcing seat and whacks Powers over the head with a chair. Powers collapses on the mat, and Chetti gets the three count.

Chris Chetti defeated Jim Powers in 5-42 (-*.5)

Chetti leaves the ring right away, just as Storm enters. Storm batters Powers with a chair, shouting "That's for throwing me out of the fucking battle royal, you piece of crap". Officials manage to pull Storm off eventually, and he resumes his broadcast seat.

Ross - What in the hell was that?

Storm - He threw me out of the battle royal two weeks ago, and that crime is inexcusable. He needed a lesson taught and I taught it right there.

Ross - Not withstanding that, we got a packed show, and we gotta go straight to our next contest. Try and stay out of this huh?

Storm - Screw you Ross.

(First Round)

Psychosis vs Hector Garza

It's Garza who takes control at the start, hitting a jack-knife powerbomb early on for a two count. As Garza berates the referee for an alleged slow count, Psychosis rolls him up from behind for a two count of his own. Both men get numerous close counts in this excelent match. Psychosis goes close with an inverted DDT and a powerbomb, whilst Garza is near to victory with a frankensteiner and a tiger driver. Psychosis soon gets the full advantage, and he seems to have the match wrapped up as he hits a vertical facebuster, flying legdrop and a frankensteiner in quick succession. The resulting cover is denied three though as Garza manages to get his foot onto the ropes. Suddenly, for no real reason, Storm re-enters the ring and starts hammering away at both wrestlers, causing the match to be thrown out.

Psychosis fought Hector Garza to a no contest in 10-32 (***.75)

Storm nails both men with a DDT before grabbing a chair from ringside again. He starts pounding both wrestlers in the ring before security drags him out of the ring area.

Ross - Welcome back folks. I've recieved word during the commercial break that Devon Storm has been kicked out of the arena. There's something odd going on in this guy's head folks. Anyhow, the previous match result means that both Psychosis and Hector Garza are elminated from the tournament. Chris Chetti's victory in our opening match means he'll get a bye in round two. Juventud Guerra was also given a bye due to him being the number one contender for the Cruiserweight title. The winner of the next match then, will face Guerra for a place in the final. Let's go back to ringside!

First Round

Silver King vs Scott "Too Hot" Taylor

Silver King gets the first offence in this match in, as he nails with right hands before knocking him to the mat with a forearm smash. King dominates Taylor until Taylor reverses a suplex well into the second minute of the match. After hitting King with a bodyslam, Taylor proceeds to blow a frankensteiner, as he's powerbombed down to the mat. King dominates for the next few minutes, but with very little high risk offence, and the crowd is not into it at all. Taylor though, gets the shock victory as, after King misses a top rope legdrop, Taylor pins him with his feet on the ropes.

Scott Taylor defeated Silver King in 5-07 (**.25)

Ross - I'm sorry, was this supposed to be a cruiserweight tournament? That's the third screwy finish tonight. Anyway, what this means is that Juventud Guerra will face Scott Taylor, with the winner facing Chris Chetti in the final. We're gonna take another break now, to give Scott Taylor time to prepare. When we come back, the cruiserweight tournament will continue!

**WWF In Your House 3 "To Live And Die In LA" Promo - May 17th**

<-commercials->

Ross - Folks, we do hope you can join us on May 17th for In Your House. In Your House 2 was an incredible event, and you know that no-one does pay per view like the WWF. Make sure to call your cable operator about this one. Now, back to the ring, as Juventud Guerra meets Scott Taylor in our semi-final matchup.

Semi-Final

Scott Taylor vs Juventud Guerra

Guerra whips Taylor into the turnbuckle right after the lock up, and then takes him to the canvas with a fishermans suplex. Guerra gets a two count out of it, but quickly loses the advantage to Taylor. Taylor gets a two count of his own moments later with a faceslam. Later in the match, Taylor manages to hit the frankensteiner that failed against Silver King, but the resulting cover only gets a two count. Taylor then looks to finish the match with a piledriver, but Guerra back body drops him, and then sends him to the mat with a dropkick. A powerbomb from Juventud sends Taylor to the mat, and the 450 splash gives Guerra the victory.

Juventud Guerra defeated Scott Taylor in 4-10 (**.5)

Ross - A very good match there, and our first clean finish of the night. Juventud Guerra will face Chris Chetti in the final then, and that promises to be a great match there. As we wait for the two competitors to prepare, let's take you back to this past Sunday night on Slam, as Shawn Michaels had these words to say.

HBK - South Carolina, give it up for the Heartbreak Kid, Shawn Michaels! Now before all you people go home tonight, the Heartbreak Kid has a few things to get off his chest. Jeff Jarrett wants to form a stable? I give it a week before Jarrett's ego starts getting to the rest. Jesse Jammes? Way to flush your entire career down the toilet. With D-Generation X, you held the WWF tag team titles for close to a month. Where are you gonna be with Jeff Jarrett? You're gonna be carrying his bags and wipin' his ass, just like the last time. But that's no worry to me, because you're not gonna be a threat. Not anymore. Bart Gunn and Bob Holly, be warned as of right now that *Billy* Gunn and Hunter Hearst Helmsley are taking those tag belts real soon. And Jarrett? Come out and face me tomorrow night on Raw if you got the balls. And remember, if you're not down with DX, I got two words for ya. Suck it!

Ross - It's odd that Michaels called Jarrett out to meet him on Raw, and then never showed up at Raw himself. I tell you though folks, both those men are going to be at Raw this upcoming Monday, as I'm hearing the main event of In Your House 3 will be announced. No word on what this main event will be has been given to me, it's gonna be interesting to see what the owner of this company, Vince McMahon decides. Anyway, back to tonight, we're just about ready for our tournament final!

Final

Chris Chetti vs Juventud Guerra

Chetti attacks Guerra before the bell, and then sends him down to the mat with some hard chops to the chest. After executing a bodyslam on Juventud, Chetti hits the double springboard moonsault! Guerra kicks out at two though, and Chetti goes up to the top rope in attempt to follow it up. Juventud gets to his feet however before Chetti can let fly, and he crotches Chetti on the buckle. Guerra gets a close count soon after with a DDT, but Chetti soon fights back and hits the D.S. moonsault once again. For the second time in the match though, Juve kicks out. Obviously pissed at this, Chetti throws the high flying style aside, and lays into Guerra with fists and kicks. Guerra fights back in the same style, and this match degenerates into a brawl for the next few minutes. The action moves to the outside and the ring area several times. In one noteworthy moment, Guerra suplexes Chetti onto the ringsteps, sending shockwaves through Juventud's back. Back in the ring, Juventud goes back to the luchadore style as he comes close with a hurracanrana, and then close again with a moonsault. It's Chetti though who is in control at the six minute mark, as Owen Hart arrives at ringside. Hart grabs a chair from the announce position and goes to hit Chetti as he gets whipped into the ropes. Chetti however, reverses the whip and sends Juventud into the ropes, causing Owen to accidentally whack Guerra. The referee obviously didn't see this, as he counts to three after Chetti small packages Guerra up.

Chris Chetti defeated Juventud Guerra in 7-10 (.75*)

(Chris Chetti won the WWF Cruiserweight Title)

This wasn't Owen's plan. After being attacked by Chetti on Slam, Hart wanted a chance to get back at him. As Chetti is handed the belt by the referee, Owen enters the ring and smashes the chair over Chetti's head. Before Owen can do too much damage to the champion, the *European* champion strides to ringside and pulls Chetti off. Marc Mero soon enters the fray, and Chetti/Bomb and Owen/Mero are duking it out as we fade out for another week.
